Celebrating an incredible contribution!

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve had the joy of celebrating our Interim Chief Executive, Linda Mitchell, as she steps into a very well-earned retirement.

There was plenty of warmth, laughter, and a few happy tears as we looked back on her 10 wonderful years with SCLD. From the RSA Fellowships to the Scottish Learning Disability Awards and the IASSID Conference and everything in between – Linda has worked tirelessly to make sure people with learning disabilities are visible, valued, and heard in all of SCLD’s work.

Most recently, Linda took on the role of Interim Chief Executive, bringing steady leadership, kindness, and humour that have shaped SCLD in ways we’ll treasure for years to come.

Ann Dougan, Chair of the Board of SCLD said, “Linda leaves a lasting and very special mark on SCLD – through hard work and genuine care for people with learning disabilities. We are enormously grateful for everything she has brought to the organisation.”

Please join us in wishing Linda all the best for her next chapter! 💛
